Lionel Messi is hoping to make history by being part of a first Barcelona side to be crowned world champions.
The Argentina ace is hoping that the Spanish and European champions can live up to their billing as favourites and beat Estudiantes in the final of the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Messi, the recently crowned European Footballer of the Year, scored one of Barca's goals in Thursday's 3-1 semi-final win over Mexican side Atlante.
"We have a small step remaining to enter into history but we cannot be overconfident as Estudiantes are a great team," he said.
"We are living a special moment. Winning this game would allow us to cap off a massive 2009 and complete something that never appeared likely even in my wildest dreams, but we should not declare victory before winning the trophy."
