    Messi eager for more silverware

    23 Feb 2010 - 09:10:18

Barcelona star Lionel Messi may have won the highest possible honours with the Spanish giants, but he is thirsty for more success.

Last season the club won the Spanish title along with the Champions League as they beat Manchester United in the final.

They then beat Europa League winners Shakhtar Donetsk to claim the European Super Cup before winning the World Club World Cup in United Arab Emirates in December, seeing of Estudiantes, with Messi's extra-time goal proving to be the winner.

But with a string of titles to his name at just 22-years-old, he wants to be part of the side that wins consecutive Champions League titles for the first time.

He said: "We have made history but we do not want to stop with what we have already done.

"We have a great team and we have to take advantage of it, all of us feel that. This is a very special time for the squad and the coaching staff.

"If we keep working hard then, step by step, we will accomplish more and more. That's all the motivation we need.

"It would be nice to become the first team to win the Champions League twice in a row and we will see if we can achieve it."
