Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi inspire Barcelona to big win over Espanyol

Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi inspired Barcelona to victory over neighbours Espanyol and to within three points of LaLiga leaders Real Madrid.

Suarez scored twice while Messi's minute of magic in the second half put Barca out of sight, before the Argentinian wrapped up a 4-1 win in the last minute.

Suarez hit the opener after racing onto an 18th-minute Andres Iniesta pass and rolling the ball across keeper Diego Lopez into the net.

Messi took the game away from Espanyol in the 67th minute with a mesmerising dance past four players before shooting straight at Roberto.

The keeper made the save but could not hold onto the ball and Suarez pounced to snap up the rebound.

A minute later Messi went on another mazy run, and this time as he stumbled out of another challenge Jordi Alba was on hand to lash the ball home.

Espanyol grabbed a consolation when Gerard Moreno cushioned an inviting ball for David Lopez to crash into the net.

But Messi, briefly overtaken by Suarez at the top of the goalscoring charts with 12, moved back level with his team-mate by tucking away the Uruguayan's chip.

Deportivo La Coruna pulled four points clear of the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over rock-bottom Osasuna at the Estadio Riazor.

Florin Andone headed the home side in front before Ryan Babel nodded in a second just before the break to set Depor on course for the win, their fourth of the season with all of them coming at home.

It meant Osasuna's wretched run continued, with just one win in their first 16 games signalling what looks like an immediate return to the second tier.

A second-half strike from Bebe earned Eibar a 1-1 draw away to 10-man Leganes.

Miguel Angel Guerrero had given the home side the lead in the 23rd minute at the Estadio Butarque.

But goalkeeper Iago Herrerin's red card three minutes later, for a foul on Takashi Inui, changed the complexion of the game.

Former Manchester United forward Bebe secured a point for Eibar with 15 minutes remaining with a deflected strike past sub keeper Diego Barrios.
