Laporta expects title success
08 Mar 2010 - 10:35:40
Barcelona president Joan Laporta remains confident that his club will retain their Spanish league title, despite dropping below Real Madrid due to a 2-2 weekend draw at Almeria.
Barca twice came from behind to earn a point at the Estadio del Mediterraneo, with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent off after an hour of a tetchy encounter.
Head coach Pep Guardiola was also sent to the stands as Barca lostn ground to their deadly rivals.
However, an upbeat Laporta told Marca: "We depend on us and we should not seek excuses.
"I am convinced we will win the league because we have a very talented team and we depend on us.
"The team still has a great hunger for victory. With ten men against Almeria we showed face and we should not be looking for excuses that are not sporting reasons."
