Barcelona outcast Alex Hleb's agent has played down talk of an imminent transfer to Italian outfit Sampdoria.

The 29-year-old Belarus international spent last season on loan at former club Stuttgart and seems highly unlikely to still be at the Camp Nou next season.

However, after rumours of interest from Samp surfaced, agent Uli Ferber told Tuttomercatoweb: "We are only dealing with journalistic speculation.

"We have a meeting with Barcelona's directors planned for ten days' time and only then will we know more about his future.

"It will depend on the club's plans. If they decide not to count on him then we will try and find a new destination."
