Guardiola hopes for focus

Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola hopes Thursday's Copa del Rey fright will help focus his players on forthcoming challenges.

Barca led their quarter-final second leg 3-0 against Espanyol before their city rivals scored twice to set up a nerve-jangling finish.

"We won the game through hard work and we found it very hard to beat Espanyol but that is the cup, that is knockout tournaments," admitted Guardiola.

"A team is losing 3-0 and they have no other choice but to push forward.

"The lesson will serve us well, we can not relax because any goal can penalise us a lot.

"We are under a lot of pressure and that is why I value performances like these so much.

"It is hard to win and there is this wrong idea that we should win each game by loads of goals."
