Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has signed a new contract to remain with the Catalan club for one more season following a meeting with new club president Sandro Rosell on Wednesday.
Guardiola had already agreed the deal verbally back in January with former president Joan Laporta. He attended the club's offices to sign the contract at lunchtime, the Catalan club announced on their website.
The new deal keeps Guardiola at the club until June 30 of next year and will give the former Barca captain a chance to add to the seven titles he has already won in his hugely successful two-year spell as coach.
Guardiola has won two Primera Division titles, the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in his short spell at the Nou Camp.
He was joined in signing a new contract by his number two, Tito Vilanova.
Guardiola became Barca coach in 2008, making the step up to replace Frank Rijkaard after coaching the Barca B team.
Already a playing legend at the club, Guardiola has now overseen the construction of a side that has been compared to the best to ever play the game as they swept all before them, winning a record six trophies during the 2009 calendar year.
He suffered disappointment in 2010, going out of the Copa del Rey early and then losing in the Champions League semi-finals to eventual winners Inter Milan.
However, Barca hung on to take the league title by three points from Real Madrid, amassing a record total of 99 points.
