Frank Rijkaard is adamant that he will not walk away from Barcelona despite their Champions League exit at the hands of
Manchester United.
Tuesday's 1-0 semi-final second leg defeat at Old trafford ensured the Catalan giants will end a second straight season without silverware following their failure to keep up with Real Madrid in La Liga.
Rijkaard's future at the Camp Nou has been the subject of intense speculation since last summer, but the Dutchman claims he has no plans to quit the club.
"I have no intention of leaving," he said. "It would be different if the players were saying it is time for me to go but that is not the case."
Meanwhile, Rijkaard hit out at the negative tactics of English teams after seeing his side edged out over two close semi-final legs by the reigning Premier League champions.
"The level of English teams is high," he continued. "It is very difficult to beat them because they are very strong.
"They are very organised and all get behind the ball. It is very tough to beat an English team.
"The type of football they play is only in the Premier League. They defend as though their lives depend on it and they are very successful.
"But I do feel English teams have a lot more to give. I just feel it is a great pity it is not the most beautiful kind of football to watch."
