Cruyff calls for Barcelona unity

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff is concerned that the continued boardroom squabbles at the Camp Nou could have a negative effect on the club's players.

Current president Sandro Rosell has been outspoken in his criticism of predecessor Joan Laporta after inheriting serious financial problems at the Spanish champions.

However, Cryuff has called for an end to the dispute for the good of the club's sporting ambitions.

"I do not know whether there are leaks, or the degree of truth behind the allegations, but if everything revolves around non-sporting issues, this can only end in tears," warned the Dutch former player and coach.

"There is too much non-sporting noise, which makes me cautious about the future.

"I don't believe everything (during Laporta's reign) was negative. I'm sure there were many positives.

"These factors can only ever subtract from the good things, never add to them. The new managers must keep the good things and improve everything that they can."
