    Busquets sounds battle cry

    20 Apr 2010 - 07:00:00

Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has admitted the side will have no excuses for under-performing in their Champions League semi-final first leg showdown with Internazionale on Tuesday evening.

The competition holders take on the Serie A champions at San Siro after enduring a gruelling bus journey to Italy following the air travel disruption brought about by the recent Icelandic volcanic eruption.

However, the defensive midfielder insists his team must perform if they want to win a place in the final at Santiago Bernabeu next month.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "We are in with a chance to reach another final and we don't want to throw that away.

"We know Inter will make it tough for us. We have been having a lot of big games and it's not the ideal way to travel to Milan but there can be no excuses.

"Maybe spending so long together on a coach will bring us closer together and help us focus on beating Inter. It's a long time on the road and we're not really used to that, but with music and a film or two, I'm sure the trip won't seem so long.

"We have to get a good result that will allow us to go into the second leg with confidence. Inter know us better than they did in the group stage and they will be better prepared for our tactics.

"Their confidence is high after getting through against teams like Chelsea and the fact that there is a chance of making the final will mean they will come out really fired up."
