Bayern ease pressure on Klinsmann

Bayern Munich gave Jurgen Klinsmann a lifeline with a 4-0 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt, while Wolfsburg beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1.Klinsmann has been reported to be facing the sack after heavy defeats to Wolfsburg last weekend and to Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek.But goals from Franck Ribery (3), Luca Toni (17), Lucio (36) and Bastian Schweinsteiger (48) helped appease the disgruntled fans and keep the champions three points behind leaders Wolfsburg, who beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1.Gladbach thought they had snatched a point when Bonfim Dante cancelled out Edin Dzeko's first-half strike in the 79th minute but Sascha Riether grabbed the winner with six minutes left.Cottbus gave their survival hopes a boost with a 2-1 defeat of fellow strugglers Arminia Bielefeld.They moved up to within a point of safety courtesy of goals from Dimitar Rangelov and Stanislav Angelov in between Vlad Munteanu's reply for Arminia.Hertha Berlin slipped back to fourth with a 2-0 loss at Hannover. Mike Hanke (30) and Arnold Bruggink (62) supplied the goals and Hertha's misery was compounded by the dismissal of Andriy Voronin a minute from time.Karlsruhe look dead and buried after a 2-0 defeat to Schalke left them six points adrift. Goals from Kevin Kuranyi and Jefferson Farfan moved Schalke up to seventh.Stanislav Sestak scored a hat-trick as Bochum took a giant stride towards safety with a 3-0 thrashing of nine-man Hoffenheim.The striker bagged goals in the 42nd and 55th minutes before Carlos Eduardo and Daniel Haas were sent off within a minute on the hour mark, and Sestak completed his treble in the 69th minute.Elsewhere Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat Cologne 3-1 at home.Taner Yalcin put Cologne ahead in the 10th minute but Dortmund replied with goals from Neven Subotic, Tamas Hajnal and an own goal from Pedro Geremel.On Sunday, Hamburg will attempt to go level on points at the top when they take on Stuttgart and Werder Bremen travel to Bayer Leverkusen.[LNB]
