Barcelona have added further firepower to their much-vaunted attack by signing Paco Alcacer from Valencia.

A statement on Barca's website revealed Alcacer has signed a five-year contract after the clubs agreed a fee of 30million euros (£27.3million), with a further two million euros in add-ons.

The 23-year-old scored 15 goals for Los Che last season, finding the net 13 times in LaLiga, and he was Spain's leading scorer in qualifying for Euro 2016 before becoming a surprise omission from the squad for the finals in France.

Defending Spanish champions Barcelona, who beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0 on Sunday to maintain their 100 per cent winning start to the season, have already signed French defenders Lucas Digne and Samuel Umtiti, midfielder Denis Suarez, as well as Nili, Alfaro and Borja Lopez in the transfer window.

The Catalans giants also landed Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen as a replacement for Claudio Bravo after the Chilean joined Manchester City.

Striker Munir El Haddadi has moved in the opposite direction to Alcacer, joining Valencia on loan until the end of the season.
