Barcelona have been rocked by the news that midfielder Rafinha could miss the rest of the season through injury.

The Brazilian suffered a knee injury moments after coming on as a substitute during the 1-1 draw in the Champions League against Roma, after he was caught by Radja Nainggolan.

The 22-year-old, younger brother of Bayern Munich's Thiago, has suffered a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the Catalan club revealed after subsequent tests.

Manager Luis Enrique did not hide his concern after the game, conceding the injury had affected his side's performance as their European defence began with a draw thanks to Alessandro Florenzi's wonder goal.

"It's a very ugly injury. It's the bad news of the day," he told beIN Sports.

"The injury has affected the play in the spirit of the players. In the first half we had the goal and in the second, the injury."
