FC Barcelona have announced the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach goal keeper Marc Andre Ter-Stegen (22) as they say part ways with Jose Manuel Pinto. The club through their official website earlier informed that Pinto would not be getting a contract extension and issued a formal statement wishing Pinto best of luck for his future.

Ter Stegen, 22, was expected to move to Barcelona after he had earlier refused to renew his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach, but the move was made official only on Monday.

Barca is also set to recall loan players Gerard Deulofeu, who spent last season at Everton, and Rafinha, who's been at Celta Vigo, to their first team squad for the next campaign.

The day also marked Barca talisman Lionel Messi , penning a new contract that would see the 26 year old Argentine , become the highest payed player in the world. No details have been given about the length of the new deal but, according to reports in Spain, the contract is worth record 20million euros per season and ties Messi to the club until 2018.
