Barcelona join race for Yann M'Vila

Spanish giants Barcelona have become serious contenders to sign French ace Yann M'Vila.

The defensive midfielder is Arsenal's main target this summer and it's been reported that Arsene Wenger is closing in on the highly rated midfielder.

Rumours M'Vila is off to London though are premature as Barcelona are well in the hot seat to sign the Rennes player.

The midfielder is set to miss the Frances's clash with England tonight and his future will be decided after the tournament. M'Vila has told Rennes he wants to leave this summer as he seeks a new challenge. He has been at the club since 2004, when he signed as a junior.

Manchester United and Arsenal are keen on the midfielder, although Sir Alex has placed M'Vila down the list of his transfer targets.Wenger could lose out on M'Vila if Barcelona push forward in signing the £25million rated youngster who is contracted until 2015.

Tito Vilanova, the new Barcelona boss is keen to sign M'Vila and Rennes are expecting a summer auction once the 21-year-old returns from Euro 2012.
