Dynamic Barcelona pair Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta have called for the team to keep their excellent performances coming after Saturday's 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza.

The Blaugrana waltzed to another triumph at la Romareda as Messi scored in each half.

With fierce rivals Real Madrid smashing Racing Santander 6-1, the duo know that they must continue to hit the right notes to apply the pressure.

Messi said: "Zaragoza are a strong and aggressive team, and to win was important. We must continue in this same way.

Iniesta added: "The important thing is to have alternatives and also that is suits the team. It gets difficult, because there are many factors, but the team works hard to ensure that we produce the best game possible, and give our maximum performance.

"This game allows us to continue adding points, and more importantly, it keeps us near the top of the table."
