Barcelona have signed Paris St Germain full-back Lucas Digne for an initial 16.5million euros, subject to a medical.

The 22-year-old, an unused member of France's Euro 2016 squad, has signed a five-year deal with the Spanish champions.

A statement on Barca's website read: "FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Paris St Germain FC to sign the 22-year-old French player Lucas Digne for the next five seasons.

"Barca have paid an initial 16.5million euros (£13.75m) with another four (million euros, £3.3m) possible according to individual and team results. Digne's buy-out clause is 60million euros (£50m).

"Lucas Digne will arrive in Barcelona on Thursday early in the morning local time to undergo a medical and sign his contract."

Digne, who began his career with Lille, joined PSG in 2013, but struggled to displace Maxwell from their starting line-up.

He enjoyed a successful loan spell in Serie A with Roma last season, regaining his international place and playing against Barca in the Champions League.

But, with Layvin Kurzawa having joined PSG from Monaco in his absence, he faced ever more limited opportunities on his return, although h is prospects in Catalonia will be similarly subject to the form and fitness of first choice Jordi Alba.

When his chance to play does come along, he will add to a strong French influence on Barca's defence and left flank alongside fellow newcomer Samuel Umtiti - signed from Lyon for 25m euros (£20.85m) on Tuesday - and Jeremy Mathieu.
