Barcelona full-back Eric Abidal has extended his contract with the Nou Camp giants for a further year.
The France international will now stay at the club until 2012 as head coach Pep Guardiola looks to keep hold of his star men.
Abidal's current contract was due to expire at the end of next season, but following meetings with club technical secretary Txiki Begiristain, a deal was struck.
There is a mammoth 90million euros buy-out clause in the deal and the former Lyon man becomes the sixth to put pen-to-paper in recent times.
Victor Valdes, Pedro, Carles Puyol, Lionel Messi and Yaya Toure have all signed new terms with the European champions as they look to retain the treble they won last term.
