Rolfes fitness boost for Bayer

Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen have been boosted by the news that Simon Rolfes is likely to be available for their first game of the second half of the season.

Rolfes has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on a knee ligament injury in October.

The 27-year-old Germany international is likely to make his comeback in a friendly against FC Twente next week.

Meanwhile, playmaker Renato Augusto is also expected to be fit for the resumption of the Bundesliga with a home game against Mainz on January 16.
