Low sweating on Adler injury

Germany head coach Joachim Low faces an anxious wait to see whether first-choice goalkeeper Rene Adler will be fit to make his World Cup finals squad in the summer.

The Bayer Leverkusen custodian broke a rib in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Stuttgart and he has already been ruled out of their Bundesliga clash against Hannover on Saturday.

Although the 25-year-old does not require any surgical procedures, he is facing a period of rest but could return in their final games of the season against Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach ahead of Low's final squad announcement on May 6.

Speaking on www.dfb.de, Low said: "Andreas Kopke (goalkeeping coach) and I have spoken on the phone with Rene Adler.

"We wish him a speedy recovery. We will now wait for the further medical test and the latest development."
