Leverkusen snap up Balitsch
29 May 2010 - 12:30:48
Bayer Leverkusen have wrapped up the free transfer signing of midfielder Hanno Balitsch from Hannover on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old has been with Hannover for five seasons, but has opted for a move back to Leverkusen, where he previously played between 2002 and 2004.
Sporting director Rudi Voller told the club's official website: "Hanno Balitsch is a very energetic player and is a very strong battler in midfield.
"He will really add something to the team. Hanno will be a very important player for us next season, both in the domestic league and in international competition."
Meanwhile, the agent of Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler has admitted that there has been interest in his client from Germany.
Dino Lamberti told Radio Goal: "Inler has played three seasons at a high level in the Udinese jersey and the player is wanted not only in Italy, but is also being followed by some German teams.
"Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has a great appreciation for Gokhan. We want to attract the right price, but it is not for me to talk about money."
