Bayer Leverkusen remain keen to try and sign loan midfielder Toni Kroos on a permanent basis from Bayern Munich.
The 19-year-old has impressed since heading to Leverkusen on a season-long loan, helping Jupp Heynckes' side to the top of the Bundesliga standings.
Leverkusen's sporting director, Rudi Voller told Rheinische Post: "The fact is he has to return to Bayern next summer.
"The final decision is, however, delayed until next spring, though we will have more chats about this."
Kroos is clearly enjoying his chance to shine at the BayArena, adding: "It is not important whether I want to remain with Bayer Leverkusen.
"If Bayern Munich wants me back then, I will have to return to the club. There has not been any decision made, I know that for sure."
