Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes has ruled his side out of the Bundesliga title race following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich.

Bayer are six points behind league leaders Munich following the stalemate at the LTU Arena.

Arturo Erasmo Vidal equalised Arjen Robben's penalty during an eight-minute burst of excitement in the early stages of the second half.

"I think we now need to look over our shoulders a bit more," said Heynckes.

"Bayern are now favourites for the title but the calculations will all be done at the end. My team is capable of holding on to third position."
