Ayr look strong for Fifers visit

Ayr player/manager Mark Roberts has a full squad to choose from against relegation-threatened East Fife as he tries to ensure United finish in the play-offs.

Roberts' men have been in the top-four all season and he is determined to make sure they stay there.

He said: "We have done well against East Fife all season and if we do well one more time, then we are in the play-offs.

"This game will not be about ability as they are fighting for their lives, this game will be all about desire. If it was all about ability we would win as I believe we have the better players, but it will all be about who wants it the most."

East Fife boss Gary Naysmith will check on Kevin Rutkiewicz, Scott Durie and Lewis Barr.

Naysmith will hope all three players are not ruled out as injuries have already seen that Ross Brown (ankle) and Gary Fisher (knee) will not play.

"We have shown that we can win away games in difficult circumstances," said Naysmith. "We won at Dunfermline and Forfar when no-one expected us to so we can have confidence that we can take something.

"We could moan about bad luck in the last 35 games but they are gone now and we simply have to win at Ayr. If we do we are safe no matter what."
