Moore banned for Ayr

Ayr are without the suspended Craig Moore for the Scottish League Cup clash against Brechin.

The on-loan Motherwell man is serving a two-game ban for his part in the clash with Bilel Moshni of Rangers in the play-offs at the end of last season and is therefore unavailable for United

Peter Murphy and Jamie Adams are injury doubts, but Alan Forrest returns after ankle surgery.

Manager Ian McCall said: "I was pleased with the players as they had to play a very patient game before getting on top of Albion Rovers last weekend.

"Brechin will be tough opponents as well however if we play like we did last Saturday then we will be okay."

Brechin manager Darren Dods is hoping to add striker David Weatherston to his squad ahead of kick-off to give him a squad of 18 to choose from at Somerset Park.

Dods said: "This is our second difficult cup tie in a row after facing Peterhead last Saturday.

"Ayr will have confidence following their win over Albion Rovers so we need to go there and put in a strong performance. We lost bad goals last weekend and if we can cut that out of our game I will be pleased.

"I have everyone pushing for a place and hopefully that will result in a winning performance on the pitch."
