Kyle sits it out for Honest Men
Ayr will be without Kevin Kyle against bottom club Arbroath.
The former Scotland international striker is due to become a father at the weekend so he is not included in player/manager Mark Roberts' plans. Neither is Robbie Crawford who is absent with a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, Roberts has praised the impact Michael Moffat has made since he returned from his four-game ban for breaching betting rules.
Moffat has hit doubles as the Honest Men won 5-0 over Stranraer and East Fife, with Roberts saying: "Michael has helped get our play-off campaign on a more solid footing.
"We will need him to be on form again as Arbroath are a good footballing side that are battling for everything."
Arbroath have centre-back Alex Keddie available after a ban and he looks set to take the place of Ricky Little who starts a two-game suspension.
Elsewhere for the strugglers, Connor Birse remains out with a knee injury.
Arbroath player/manager Paul Sheerin is wary of Moffat, as he explained: "He has been a thorn in our side in recent games so we have to keep him quiet.
"Hopefully we can get the win that keeps things really tight at the bottom."
