Moffat walking on air after treble

Michael Moffat's first hat-trick for Ayr helped Mark Roberts' side to a 5-2 win over Albion.

Ayr went ahead through Michael Donald, who fired into the top corner from inside the area.

Moffat grabbed his first from the penalty spot after Chris Boyle fouled David Winters in the box.

Robert Winters pulled a goal back three minutes before the break with a close-range finish.

The two-goal cushion was restored by Donald, who drove home from the edge of the area in the 56th minute.

And Moffat added a fourth three minutes later with a tap-in from six yards.

The striker completed his hat-trick after being released by Austin McCann and finishing into the bottom corner.

Albion pulled a late goal back as Robert Winters turned in Christopher Dallas' cross from close range, but by then their sixth consecutive defeat was assured.
