Ayr hit three to sink lowly Airdrie
Ayr delivered a clinical second-half performance to beat basement side Airdrie 3-0.
The game came to life after a quiet opening when Ayr midfielder Craig Malcolm's header crashed against the bar and Kevin Kyle had a header of his own cleared off the line from the resulting corner.
The hosts continued to push for the opener after the break and deservedly hit the front just before the hour mark as Kyle headed home Kyle McAusland's inch-perfect cross.
Michael Moffat scored his 17th goal of the season with a fierce drive 15 minutes from time and Alan Forrest slammed a close-range shot beyond Danny Rogers just three minutes later as Ayr prolonged Airdrie's wait for their first away win.
