Ayr breathe sigh of relief

Ayr twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Falkirk despite having a man sent off.

The away side took the lead after eight minutes when Kallum Higginbotham latched onto Farid El Alagui's cross to fire home.

Ayr equalised on 29 minutes after Gareth Wardlaw headed home John Robertson's inviting cross.

But Falkirk regained the lead on the stroke of half-time, this time El Alagui got on the end of Kieran Duffie's long ball to rifle home.

The home side levelled once again when Edward Malone struck an unstoppable free kick into the bottom corner on the hour mark.

Ayr had to hold on for more than 15 minutes after Martyn Campbell was dismissed for a second bookable offence following a foul on El Alagui.
