McLaughlin leaves it late Scott McLaughlin's injury-time strike gave Ayr a 1-0 victory over Airdrie. Mark Roberts had two early chances to open the scoring for Ayr but his shots were easily saved by Mark Ridgers before Airdrie were reduced to 10 men midway through the first half when Ryan Wallace was given his marching orders for a dangerous tackle on William Easton. Gary Muir could have scored for the visitors but his shot was parried away by David Crawford and Jonathan Tiffoney and Daniel McKay had opportunities for the home side. Ayr struggled to make their man advantage count until McLaughlin beat the keeper from 12 yards deep into stoppage time to move Ayr up to third in the table.
