Martin Boyle bags a brace as Hibernian maintain top spot with victory over Ayr

Hibernian marched on at the top of the Scottish Championship with a comfortable 3-0 win at Ayr.

Martin Boyle notched the first of a brace after 28 minutes, collecting a through ball from Lewis Stevenson and firing past Greg Fleming, possibly with the aid of a deflection.

Neil Lennon's men nearly doubled the lead in the second half when Andrew Shinnie hit the post after a good flick forward by Grant Holt.

Boyle did just that when he took John McGinn's ball in his stride and netted through Fleming's legs.

McGinn added a third for Hibs late on with a fantastic 35-yard strike that flew in off the post.
