Greg Fleming saves three penalties as Ayr win promotion to Scottish Championship
Greg Fleming saved three penalties as Ayr secured promotion to the Ladbrokes Championship with a 3-1 shoot-out victory against Stranraer.
After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, the sides played out a dull goalless draw to set up a shoot-out at Somerset Park.
And Fleming saved each of Stranraer's first three penalties from Paul Cairney, Jamie Longworth, David Barron before Andrew Graham slotted in the winning spot-kick.
Stranraer had best chance during normal time, with Andy Stirling firing over when through on goal, while substitute Longworth headed wide in extra time.
Jordan Preston and Alan Trouten both scored for Ayr in the shoot-out, with Willie Gibson managing Stranraer's only successful attempt after Ross Docherty had hit the left-hand post for the hosts.
