Hickersberger hopes for luck

Austria coach Josef Hickersberger has admitted luck needs to be on his team's side if they are to beat Germany on Monday and clinch a place in the quarter-finals.

A last-gasp penalty allowed Austria to take a point from a 1-1 draw with Poland in their last Group B game that maintained their interest in the tournament.

Hickersberger said: "We hope to show some of the form that we had against Poland also in this game, though against great opponents.

"We also need a bit of luck in the game. We need to adapt to the way Germany are playing, it's not like we can play our own game.

"Germany will take us seriously and they will be putting a great effort into it.

"We have the necessary passion in our game now - I am simply looking forward to it and hope it will be an exciting game until the very end."
