Viduka eyes an upset

17 Jun 2006 - 10:32:44

Australia captain Mark Viduka believes that Croatia's display against Brazil has given the Socceroos hopes of causing an upset against the reigning world champions.

Viduka felt that Brazil were slightly fortunate to edge a 1-0 victory against Croatia and is looking to his side building on their impressive 3-1 opening game win over Japan.

He said: "The game against Croatia showed that they are vulnerable in places.

"I thought Croatia should have got something out of that game. I thought they were the better team.

"Brazil are not superheroes or anything like that. They're people like us."

Socceroos midfielder Brett Emerton is also looking forward to the clash in Munich's Allianz Arena.

He added: "We're excited, I think, more than anything.

"I don't think people expect us to go there and win. Although we believe in our ability and believe we can get a result.

"It's an exciting prospect and a scary one as well."
