Australia centre-half Craig Moore says his side are desperate to qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup and show their class on the international scene.
The Socceroos face a crucial clash with Croatia on Thursday, with Moore looking for his side to progress to the last 16 and maybe beyond.
He told reporters: "At this time of year Australian players are normally on holidays watching the World Cup.
"But not only are we involved in the World Cup, we are in with a good chance of progressing. That's huge.
"We are not here to make up the numbers. We are ambitious. We are here to stay in the tournament as long as we can.
"We have a big chance to qualify. Every game will be a cup final for us from now on."
