Indonesian group buy Brisbane Roar

Indonesia's Bakrie Group have become the new owners of A-League champions Brisbane Roar after taking a controlling stake, Football Federation Australia said Friday.

FFA officials have been looking for investors for last season's A-League winners since taking the licence back from the club in March 2011.

"We believe we have found fantastic new owners in the Bakrie Group," FFA chief executive Ben Buckley said.

"They have a strong background in football through ownership of several other clubs and their interests are in line with our outlook for the Roar."

Buckley said the deal showed the A-League's growing international profile.

The Bakrie Group, through its sporting arm Pelita Jaya Cronus, will take a 70 percent interest in the Club under a 10-year licence.

The FFA will retain its 30 percent holding in the interim.

FIFA Ethics Committee member Dali Tahir will be club chairman.
