Holland joins Austria Vienna

Australian international midfielder James Holland has signed a contract to play with Austria Vienna until the summer of 2013, the club's sporting director Thomas Parits said on Tuesday.

Holland impressed coach Ivica Vastic when he trained with the squad and he was asked to make the transfer move from his present club AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, although he is currently on loan at Sparta Rotterdam.

Austria Vienna are currently fourth in the Austrian top flight, four points behind leaders and arch-rivals Rapid Vienna with the season due to resume after the winter break on February 11.
