Turkish star Turan reaches deal for Atletico move

Galatasaray's Turkish international winger Arda Turan has reached a deal to sign for Spanish club Atletico Madrid, the Istanbul club said late Tuesday.
"An agreement has been reached for the transfer of Arda Turan to Atletico Madrid," the club said in a statement on its website.
"The important thing was Arda's preference... He wants to live this experience," Anatolia news agency quoted Ali Durust, the senior official of Galatasaray club, as saying.
The 24-year-old Turan will sign a four-year deal with the Spanish club and move to Madrid on Thursday, Atletico Madrid said in a statement on its website, carried by Anatolia.
Galatasaray will receive a 12 million euro payment, plus a one million bonus for their captain's transfer, the Istanbul club said.
Atletico finished seventh in La Liga last season.
