Factfile on Atletico Madrid and AC Milan, Italy's last remaining club in the competition, ahead of the Champions League last 16, second leg tie between the clubs on Tuesday with Atletico leading 1-0:

Form: Rarely have seven-time European champions Milan been bigger outsiders coming into a continental tie. The arrival of Dutchman Clarence Seedorf as coach has not engendered a revival in their fortunes and they go into the second leg on the back of a 1-0 defeat away at Udinese. Atletico are enjoying a superb season. Diego Simeone's side, who dropped just two points en route to winning Group H, are pushing Barcelona and Real Madrid hard in the Spanish title race. They beat Celta Vigo 2-0 away on Saturday and remain just three points off leaders Real. They have won 15 of their last 16 home games in UEFA competitions while Milan have gone out to Spanish opposition, Barcelona, in the Champions League in the last two seasons. Atletico are chasing their first appearance in the Champions League quarter-finals since 1997, that team having included Simeone.
