Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre has warned his players that Champions League qualification is still far from assured despite Thursday's 2-0 victory over Espanyol.
Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan scored in three first-half minutes to move Atletico three points clear of Sevilla in the final qualification place with just two games remaining in the season.
They could secure at least fourth place in the table and a spot in the Champions League with victory over Deportivo on Sunday.
"We certainly didn't shine, but we were practical," admitted Aguirre.
"They had some chances before Aguero's goal, but once that went in we knew what we had to do to keep them at bay.
"We must respect Deportivo because they have been the best team in the second half of the season.
"It will not be a comfortable match and we will have a battle on our hands to take the victory."
