Vieri not joining Galaxy

Former Italy striker Christian Vieri will not be continuing his career with LA Galaxy, according to officials from the MLS club.

Vieri, 35, left Atalanta last week after the club agreed to release him from his contract.

The former Internazionale, AC Milan, Monaco and Fiorentina striker was reported to have travelled to the US for a trial with the MLS club.

However, Galaxy have denied offering the ex-Italy international the opportunity to join them after a club spokesperson said: "No. It's not true."
