Atalanta turn to coach Mutti

Atalanta have turned to Bortolo Mutti as their new coach following the resignation of Antonio Conte.

Conte stepped down last week with the ailing club second bottom of the Serie A table.

Mutti's last top-flight job was with Messina in 2006 and he has been out of work since being axed by Serie B Modena in 2008.

The 55-year-old has also coached Atalanta once previously during the 1998-99 campaign.

"Atalanta communicate that they have put Lino (Bortolo) Mutti in charge of the first team," confirmed a brief club statement.
