Published: 06 Oct 2009 - 13:28:17
Who he? It's Fabio Borini of Chelsea of course... You often hear the chant 'Who are ya, who are ya?' directed at opposing fans as a goal slams in to the back of the net - but recently, we've found ourselves muttering the very same words under our breath. Not because our team has scored but because we've spotted a few players who have left us scratching our heads - a few names that we don't recollect seeing before on any teamsheet. Fear not - if you're suffering the same problem we have the answers. Here's Sportsmail's guide to some of the 'new' and rather obscure names in the Premier League ... ARSENAL: Vito MannoneYes, you might have seen this goalie in a couple of games by now but,up until recently the Gunners' youth team stopper wasanonymous. Let in two in the first five minues of his debut but has produced decent displays since. ASTON VILLA: Nathan DelfounesoThe lofty striker came through the youth ranks and made his full debutfor the Villans when he replaced Gabriel Agbonlahor in the defeat toWigan earlier this season. BIRMINGHAM: Giovanny EspinozaThe second most-capped playerfor Ecuador, apparently, and he joined Brum in the summer fromBarcelona ... no, not that one, the Ecuadorian version. BLACKBURN: David HoilettThe Canadian striker has been at Roversfor several years now but has remained anonymous due to spells on loanat giants of the game such as FC Paderborn and FC St. Pauli. On the biggest stage: Wayne Rooney goes past Giovanny Espinoza of Ecuador - now playing for Birmingham - at the 2006 World Cup BOLTON: Lee Chung-YongA real find for Gary Megson, the wingerwas been excellent in recent games against Birmingham and Spurs afterhis summer move from FC Seoul. BURNLEY: Fernando GuerreroCurrently at Turf Moor on loan, the Ecuador midfielder has made a good impression since his move from Independiente del Valle. CHELSEA: Fabio BoriniThis youth team star is still only 18 but already making waves at Stamford Bridge. Debuted in the 3-0 victory over Spurs. EVERTON: Diniyar BilyaletdinovRussian winger has made asteady start after moving fromLokomotiv Moscow. In six appearances has yet totaste defeat. There's an old saying on Merseyside: Everton never lose when Diniyar Bilyaletdinov (left) is in the team... FULHAM: Kagisho DikgacoiSigned from South African club GoldenArrows in August and, yes, he's the chap that 'took a swing' at WestHam's captain Scott Parker and got sent off at the weekend. On hisdebut. Silly boy. HULL: Kamel GhilasThe 25-year-old Algerian striker arrived in EastYorkshire from Celta Vigo this summer and has scored once for theTigers against Bolton Wanderers. Averages roughly a goal every four games. LIVERPOOL: Sotiros Kyrgiakos No spring chicken, the30-year-old Greece defender was signed as cover from AEK Athens at thestart of the this season and has played twice. MANCHESTER CITY: Vladimir Weiss He came from Bratislavabut made his name in the Blues' FA Youth Cup triumph last year, Weisshas made just the one appearance this term. One Hull of a player: Kamel Ghilas after his winning strike against Bolton MANCHESTER UNITED: Ritchie de LaetAfter several injuries, itlooked like de Laet's time at Stoke City was up - until SirAlex signed him after agreeing a performance-related payment package. The defender has made one League Cup appearance. SUNDERLAND: John Mensah Of all the Black Cats' summersignings, the one that pleased Steve Bruce the was most was thearrival, on-loan, of the Ghanaian from French side Lyon. You've heard of me now: Hassan Yebda celebrates his winning goal for Pompey at Wolves TOTTENHAM: Giovani dos Santos Arrived from Barcelona last year with a greatreputation but has failed to live up to expectations. Had a brief spellon-loan at Ipswich last season and has made two Carling Cup starts this term forSpurs WEST HAM: Luis JimenezCurrently on loan from Inter, theChilean forward has signed for Gianfranco Zola's team on a year-longdeal.
