Aston Villa starlet Peter Whittingham has signed a new long-term deal with the club.
The 19-year-old, who has been a regular in the Villa side under new boss David O'Leary this season, has signed a three-year extension to his current deal that will keep him at Villa Park until June 2007.
"I'm just delighted to have it sorted and I can now plan my future with Villa," Whittingham told the club's official website.
"It was one of the easiest decisions I've ever had to make.
"Now I just want to really establish myself at Villa Park. I know I'm in David O'Leary's team, but I also know that the key is to stay in the team.
"I'm not taking anything for granted, but this is a big boost. It's been a great season for me so far and I want to keep doing well."
