Aston Villa have unveiled new signing Nigel Reo-Coker and the £8.5million midfielder has promised to give 100 per cent to help the club achieve their aim of European football.
The 23-year-old finalised personal terms over his move from West Ham United and passed a medical on Thursday evening before being unveiled to the media.
Villa had been linked with a move for the England Under-21 captain after he submitted a transfer request at Upton Park at the end of the last campaign.
Manager Martin O'Neill had failed in a £7million bid before upping his offer to land the former Wimbledon midfielder.
"I'm not a superstar or a miracle worker. I'm a hard-working person and I give 100 per cent in every game I play," he told the club's official website.
"The reason I joined this club is their aspiration to play in Europe. Martin O'Neill has told me what he is aiming to do and I believe we can achieve it.
"If you look at last season, they started very well but then had a bad time over Christmas and generally drew a lot of games.
"I told Martin that if they had had someone to put away the chances, and Villa had won just half the games they drew, they would be in Europe right now.
"I enjoyed every minute of my time at West Ham but this is a new chapter, a new beginning for me. I'm hoping there will be a lot of success here."
