Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the biggest (and littlest) transfer moves this summer. His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening Don't miss yo Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline.e. ............................................................................................................ Mancini Inter Milan to West Ham - The Insider says: 5/5 A loan deal for the exciting Brazilian should be finalised in the next 48 hours and West Ham will also have an agreement in place to sign him permanently at the end of the season. Mancini has been a target for Manchester United and Liverpool in the past, but made his move to Inter from Roma last summer. The 28-year-old, however, has failed to cement a place under Jose Mourinho and has grown unhappy at his lack of first-team opportunities. West Ham moved quickly to strike a deal to bring in Mancini and team-mate Luis Jimenez ahead of competition from Spain and Italy. mancini Better late than never: Mancini has long been linked with a move to England Royston Drenthe Real Madrid to Aston Vila - The Insider says: 2/5 The exciting young Dutch full back caught the eye at the 2007 European Under 21 Championships and rejected overtures from Aston Villa, Newcastle and Chelsea at the time. Drenthe opted to join the Dutch contingent at Real Madrid, but never fulfilled his potential at the Bernebeu. The 22-year-old is one of several players to be sacrificed by Madrid as they look to finance their huge outlay this summer and is available for a bargain £4m. Villa are interested, but have other priorities first and are yet to finalise their summer budget. drenthe Roy the boy: Drenthe Sebastien Bassong Out of Toon: Bassong Sebastien Bassong Newcastle to Bolton - The Insider says: 1/5 The French defender has been the one success story at St James' Park this season. Bassong was relatively unheard of when he joined Newcastle last summer, but his uncompromising style and ability on the ball have made him a target for most of the Premier League's top clubs. Bolton are lining up an ambitious £12m bid as they look to bring in four or five top-quality additions, but they may be disappointed as there is interest from the likes of Arsenal. Sunderland are also firm admirers of the player. Stewart Downing Middlesbrough to Tottenham - The Insider says: 3/5 Spurs are busy pursuing a host of targets, but Boro have opened the way for negotiations over their England winger. Concerns revolve around the fact Downing's broken foot may not heal until October, but Boro may be willing to barter a loan deal with a view to a permanent £12m signing later on. Harry Redknapp is a confirmed admirer and would also prefer to have players with Premier League experience in his squad. Downing is keen on a move to White Hart Lane, but such a deal will alert other interested parties, such as Liverpool. stewart downing Recovery time: A deal for Downing could depend on how quickly he returns Roque Santa Cruz Blackburn to Manchester City - The Insider says: 4/5 Sportsmail revealed last week that Manchester City had made a renewed inquiry for the Paraguay international. Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is keen to push the deal through as he is working under extremely tight budget constraints. The cash from Santa Cruz would allow him to bring in a centre forward and at least three of the other targets he has lined up. But City have offered £12m plus a further £3m and Blackburn's board would still demand £20m, despite Santa Cruz's poor showing in the second half of the Premier League season. City, however, still hope to finalise the deal within the next 10 days.
