Arsenal goalkeeper Stuart Taylor will join Aston Villa providing he passes a medical on Monday afternoon.
Taylor has agreed the terms of a four-year contract at Villa Park, where he will vie with Denmark international Thomas Sorensen for a starting role.
Villa boss David O'Leary moved for the 24-year-old because his back-up keeper Stefan Postma is close to finalising a move to a Spanish club.
Former England Under-21 international Taylor played just 18 Premiership games for the Gunners after progressing from the club's youth set-up, with David Seaman, Alex Manninger, Richard Wright, Jens Lehmann and ManUel Almunia combining to restrict his opportunities.
He also had spells on loan at Bristol Rovers, Crystal Palace, Peterborough United and Leicester City, making a further 30 league appearances.
