Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has laughed off rumours that he is set to become director of football at Villa Park.
The former England manager has endured a disappointing campaign with Villa and stories have surfaced linking him with a move upstairs.
However, Taylor has said that is simply not the case.
"There has been a lot of talk and speculation, but there is no truth in the suggestion that I am moving upstairs," he said.
"That story is what is called a flier. What is the point of moving upstairs? I have never liked the idea of being a director of football.
"I know David Pleat does it at Tottenham. But to be a director of football - I just don't see what the job is.
"You can forget any talk about me going upstairs to be a director of football."
