Aston Villa striker Chris Sutton could make a quicker than anticipated return to first-team action by playing against Sheffield United on Monday.
The 33-year-old former Norwich City, Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers and Celtic star has missed Villa's last two games with a calf injury but has now returned to training, much to boss Martin O'Neill's delight.
"Chris wouldn't have been fit if we'd have played on Tuesday, but we'll see how he comes through," O'Neill told Villa's official website.
"Providing he does, that would be a massive boost. But I will play it by ear because I know what Sutton's like.
"But he trained yesterday (Thursday) without a problem and we've also got a longer break with Saturday and Sunday to go before we play.
"Stilian (Petrov) isn't training at the moment, but it's more precautionary than anything else."
