Shorey set for Pompey switch

Portsmouth are expected to tie up deals for Reading's Nicky Shorey and Tottenham's Younes Kaboul this week.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has been linked with Shorey since the end of last season and assistant manager Tony Adams was at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday to watch the defender in the pre-season friendly against Aston Villa.
However, the 27-year-old was not included in the Royals' starting line-up, fuelling rumours that a switch to Fratton Park was imminent.
Aston Villa have also been linked with Shorey, who is valued by Reading boss Steve Coppell at £5million.
Coppell said recently: "To be fair to Nicky, he's made it clear from this time last year that he'd prefer to leave and ply his trade elsewhere.
"There was a little bit of interest last week and the chances are he'll be gone by next week. I'm 60-40 convinced he'll be gone.
"The offer was a firm one but we've no need to sell anyone and I'm not going to give anyone away."
Meanwhile, Kaboul, who is also expected to cost £5million, rejected a switch to Sunderland last week as he would prefer a transfer to the south coast.
